We recently discovered a young boy named Ssemata Bernard, commonly known as Junior, after his biological mother, Nabirye Nubuwat, came to Jinja Connection (JC) searching for him. Junior, who is deaf, had been missing for about a month, making it difficult for us to gather his details until his mother arrived.
Nabirye explained that Junior often gets distracted easily. Whenever he is sent to fetch water, go shopping, or even attend school, he doesn't return home because he gets captivated by exciting things or friends along the way. This has been a recurring issue, causing great distress to his mother, who has been tirelessly looking for him.
Nabirye shared her desire to place Junior in a boarding school that can cater to his needs, but the high costs of such specialized schools are beyond her financial reach. She expressed her frustration and helplessness, hoping for a solution that could provide her son with the education and care he deserves.
Junior found his way to JC through street walks and has been attending our programs for a week. His time with us has highlighted the need for immediate action to ensure his well-being and future.

Recommendations
1. Immediate Follow-Up: We need to thoroughly examine Junior's home situation to understand how we can best support him in staying home safely.
2. Educational Support: Financial assistance is crucial to help Junior enroll in a specialized school that can cater to his needs and provide him with a better future.
This resettlement story underscores the urgent need for community support and resources to help children like Junior overcome their challenges and thrive.
